Aiden didn't even cry when he was born. He just looked around and laid on his mom's chest. It was truly amazing. We really didn't hear him cry until his first bath, when they washed his hair. He didn't mind the bath of his body, but sure didn't like the hair. Other than that, the first few hours of his life he was so calm and quiet and precious as could be.
We are very blessed to have so many family and friends that already love this little boy, and he got lots of visitors! Ross's family were the first to meet the lil guy, at about noon, then Justin and Cambrey at about 1:30, then Rachel and Clayton at about 3. Buck and Sonia came by around 8pm. My parents were out in Palm Desert for Granny's 100th birthday celebration, scheduled to come home on Jan 6th. Since their first grandchild decided to arrive on the 5th, and within an hour of us calling them and telling them we were headed to the hospital, they frantically changed travel arrangements, including a layover in Phoenix and an arrival in Denver after midnight, to be able to come see us on the day of Aiden's birth. They made it to hospital at about 2am. It was so great to share that day with everyone we love.
The next day Aiden had a lot of medical visitors. He got circumsized, had a hearing test, and a number of other pediatric checkups and tests. Ross's grandparents, now Aiden's great grandparents came by, and my parents came by for another visit. The hospital photographer took some beautiful shots of Aiden at 2-days old.
Aiden was a good little eater, with some help from the nurses on how I was supposed to be successful at breastfeeding. He ate about every 2-3 hours and slept for almost all the time in between. He was so sweet and almost not fussy at all. Ross and I are so lucky! Exhausted, but lucky! :-) Aiden's feet turned soooo red when he ate! He sneezed all the time and got lots of hiccups, just like when he was inside me. He had this adorable and sad little lip quiver, that he would do all the time. And he liked to bite or suck on his lower lip, giving him the appearance of a super severe overbite. He has the most adorable little squeaks and yawns.
He also had about 5 meconium poops! Good work cleaning all those up, Dad! He is just a gorgeous peaceful little baby and Ross and I couldn't be happier.
By Wednesday morning I actually think we were ready to head home and start our new lives. Being in the hospital was a bit of a time capsule. Precious time with our newborn, but you feel totally disconnected from the rest of the world!
It took what felt like forever to finally get discharged, and we finally headed home at about 1pm on Wednesday the 7th. Aiden did really well in the car seat until we were at about Alameda, when he decided to lose it, which in turn made mom lose it! These emotions are crazy! By the time we pulled into the garage he was sound asleep. :-) Our family of three was home!

Cute. Glad you liked the RhineArmy name, and so happy you started a little army of your own!
