Week 8
Aiden found his fists! He gnaws on them from time to time, although he still doesn't have control of his arms and hands. Aiden is just starting to smile at us and smiles like crazy for his Gammie. We went out to Palm Springs this week and he got to go swimming for the first time and did great on the planes. It was so much fun to spend the nice warm days out there and to visit with my parents. He's just starting to track items with his eyes and is so alert. He loves to look around. He's so sweet!
Week 9
Aiden is definitely smiling at us! It's so cute. He's got the best dimples and his little smile will just light you up! :-) He very obviously is tracking toys now, following them as I move them during his tummy time. He really loves to be outside and is getting more and more vocal each day. His little noises are so cute. Except when we're all trying to sleep in the same room! He is a loud sleeper! We went to the mountains this weekend with the Rhinehart's and they loved spending time with him. He travels very well in the car and seems to accept us hauling him around! He is staying awake so much longer during the day to play. He's such a sweetie. We had Aiden's two month checkup on Wednesday (3/11). He weighed in at 11 lbs 11 oz and 24" long. He did great getting the shots but was fussy that afternoon and ran a mild fever. A little baby Tylenol and snuggles with Momma and he was in good shape!
Week 10
Aiden loves to be held standing up! If he's fussy in our arms, he calms right down when we stand him up or take him outside! He has the longest gorgeous eyelashes and bright beautiful blue eyes. He's getting cute new tiny hair coming in on top and losing a bit in the back. He is sooo strong! He holds his head like a champ, likes to stand and kick his legs against us, and still has a killer grip!
This week he may have been a bit too stimulated and not napped enough during the day, because he definitely had a few evenings where he was very fussy and only wanted to be with Mom. I thought it was rather sweet, but the poor kiddo was too sleepy for his own good and I just had to help soothe him to sleep. He's been up once a night to eat, sometime between 2-4am and then gets up for the day by 6:45-7:45am each morning. He might be just about too big for his size 1 diapers, as we had a number of blowouts in the mornings this week! We're squeezing him into a number of his 3 month sleeper outfits for one last time, as he is just about too long to straighten his legs in them! Aiden loves the fresh air outside and smiles like crazy these days! He's just started sticking out his tongue a little and spitting up a little more than he has in the past. He also started blowing little spit bubbles. He loves to follow the toys of his activity mats and watch us move them around during tummy time. He smiles so much and is making more and cooing sounds. It's so much fun to watch the world open up to him!
On Tuesday (3/17) we went downtown to have lunch with Daddy and to visit EOG. Everyone loved seeing him and he did great! The funniest part of the day was after lunch when Aiden needed some lunch too, so we went to Dad's office before heading to EOG. After Aiden ate I was changing him on Ross's desk, and he decided to take a huge poop on Dad's desk! He stuck his cute green socks (for St. Patty's Day) in it and really made a mess! :-) We couldn't help but laugh. We're having so much fun being Aiden's parents. I'm really not looking forward to going back to work. :-( Luckily his grandparents will be the taking over for me!
This past weekend we got to visit lots of friends! We had dinner with Buck and Sonia and the boys on Saturday. Jack and Elijah were so cute with Aiden and just wanted to watch him and bat the toys around that were on the swing above him. They'll be great when their little brother or sister arrives in another month! On Sunday we had dinner with Ross and Abby and got to spend the evening with Ava and little Mr. Owen! It was fun to see how Aiden and Owen compared. Aiden is definitely longer and has huge hands and feet compared to Owen, but Owen is thicker and just started laughing. It will be so fun to have our friends kiddos in such close age to ours!
10 days vs 10 weeks comparison!
I can't believe it's already been 10 full weeks since this little dream entered our lives. It's amazing how quickly this has become our new normal. Aiden is amazing!
