Back to work....

I started back to work this week.  :-(  I took Monday off, and luckily my company gave Good Friday as a holiday, so it was a short week.  Leaving the house on Tuesday was so hard.  I hated leaving my little man that I'd spent every day with for the past 12 weeks, so the drive in was difficult.  Luckily, my parents are amazing, and will be watching Aiden for the next two months, with Aunt Robyn taking a day each week starting in late April too.  It was so much easier to leave knowing that my little boy would be with my mom and dad, and not with a stranger.  Such peace of mind!  And it's such a blessing to be able to leave him sleeping in his own crib to wake up as he pleases with them there.  We can't thank them enough.  It definitely will help me make this transition back to work so much easier.  And my bosses immediately threw work at me, so no time for a pity party, which was probably better.  Coming home to Aiden's sweet face was the best thing ever!

Tuesday was tough on me and a little tough on Aiden.  He was more fussy than normal as he had to adjust to me not being there, bottles all day, and his wonderful Gammie and Papa with him.  Wednesday and Thursday he did fabulous and was back to his happy self and enjoyed his days with them! And Aiden always give me the best smiles when I put him back to back in the mornings.  Warms my heart for the whole day!

This week was also my birthday.  Double Whammy!  Leave your sweet baby at home while you work and turn another year older.  Boo!  Ross was so sweet and sent flowers to work on my first day back, and brought me flowers to the house on Monday.  Monday was actually was the saddest day for me, just having to think about leaving him.  :-(  Aiden signed his very own birthday card to me, with the help of his Daddy, which was so sweet, and Ross cooked up some delicious filet oscar.  Mom and Aiden even baked a cake!  It was a great day.  One of the cutest things that happened was when my little man had a blow out.  Not what you think!  He blew out the stitching of the footie on his outfit!  His big feet are bursting at the seams!  I guess it's time for the 6 month clothes already!

I'm going to miss him like crazy while I'm back at work, but I do love my career, and the paycheck associated with it, and we're so blessed that he'll get this quality time with his grandparents.
