Weeks 11, 12, and 13

It's amazing how much Aiden changes each day and how the world is opening up to him.  Every day is so much fun with this little guy.

Week 11 -Aiden loves to be outside!  If he's fussy, I can walk outside with him and he calms right down.  He's started staying awake during runs in the stroller.  He used to hate when his Dad or I would try to get boogies out of his nose, and this week he decided it was funny and was totally smiling while we tried! Aiden is really sucking on his hands more and his nails are still crazy sharp.  He can draw blood on his little face if I don't file them quick enough.  Aiden rarely pees while we're changing him.  I get pooped on during changes WAY more often than pee.  Aiden is really started to talk more and try to learn his little voice.  He makes such cute noises.  He's getting the hiccups a little less, but still sneezes a lot.  And Kuna still worries about him every time! :-)  This kiddo is a little hot box!  His body seems to run a little warm, like his mamma.  He really likes bath time and is a sleepy guy in the evenings.  He's sleeping like a champ.  Usually we put him to bed by 9-10pm and he wakes up to eat around 5am and then goes back to bed until almost 8am most days.  He's so smiley.  It's the cutest thing ever!  He is starting to hold onto things a little bit more and really likes when he smacks the toys on his play mat.  He still has super dry skin. At breastfeeding group this week he weighed in at 12 lbs 1 oz, which is up 1 lb in 3 weeks.  He's got adorable little hairs on his forehead and ears still.  I'm already dreading going back to work.  I'm going to miss this little man!  We had a great weekend in the mountains and got a few last turns in on the slope for this already very spring skiing.  Not our best ski year, but we have Aiden to show for it!

Week 12 - I started back to work this week.  Boo!  It was so hard to leave him but I'm so thankful his grandparents were there to take care of him!  He had a fussy first day with them, surely needing to adjust to this new routine, like all of us!  But the next two days he did great!  Aiden had heat rash pretty bad this week.  Luckily mom and dad helped us identify that and after playing naked and less lotion, it seemed to clear up a few days later.  We think maybe it was having him sleep in the fleece swaddle when we were in the mountains over the weekend, and he was just too warm.  Who knows.  He has pretty sensitive skin.  He's so so smiley and on the verge of laughing.  Gammie will get him laughing any day here!  He's really trying to figure out his hands by sucking on his fists, gripping toys more and batting at the toys on his activity mat.  He's not really aiming at them and can't really intentionally hit them, but he likes it when he does and then keeps doing it!  He still loves being outside and really enjoys being held standing up.  When he's in a good sound sleep he will still have the landing gears up(legs curled up under him), which is so cute.  He doesn't do it much during the day anymore, but still will in the evenings.  But he does allow his body to stretch out and let his limbs relax more.  His fists are clenched less often, and he lets those long fingers be loose.   Aiden makes the most adorable little sucking motions with his mouth when sleeping occasionally, although much less often than when he was tiny.  He only does the little lip quiver when he's cold or sad, and he makes the saddest face in the world when he's about to cry.  I wish I could capture it on the camera.  I think he's starting to see Kuna a little bit, but she still moves a little too fast for him.  It's like he smells the food, because he always seems to be ready to eat about the same time we are each night!  He's sleeping great.  Consistently sleeps 6-7hrs at night.  He's so amazing.  I love everything about this little kid.  He's truly precious.  And when he sneaks his little arms out the bottom of his swaddle at night, it takes cute to a new level.  Quite the little escape artist!

Week 13 - Aiden didn't really nap much this week, but he's sleeping through the night, so I'll take it.  He's been waking up between 5-6 am to eat, which is perfect timing because that's when I'm getting ready for work, and then he goes back to sleep for another few hours.  He's finding his thumb to suck occasionally, and his fist all the time!  He sure didn't like being in his swing a few evenings and tries to roll over/get out of his swing.  He absolutely loves his play mats and smiles at the sun that lights up and sings to him and his eye just glue onto the butterfly.  He's soooo strong.  He has been since day one it seems like, but he pushes his legs like crazy, and still loves standing up.  We hardly have to hold his neck anymore, but he gets wobbly neck when he's tired.  He can kind of sit in the little Bumbo chair, but doesn't like it yet!  He smiles for me in the early mornings, smiles for Ross when he wakes up or in the evenings, and smiles for Gammie all the time.  That sparkle in his eye and adorable smile just light up our days.  For some reason he doesn't like to be burped over Papa's shoulder anymore.  We had to move him into the 6 month sized sleepers because he's just too long!  They are a little big but they're so cute on him.  He sees and gets glued onto the TV occasionally, so we're trying not to let that happen.  We tried to read to him but he isn't very interested most days.  He's seeing Kuna a little bit more each week.  He's just so darn calm and sweet.  Mom and Dad and enjoying watching him and I'm surviving being away.  I hate missing my days with him, but do like that pay check!
