10 month stats:
Height - 30"
Weight - 20 lbs 12 oz
Eyes - steel blue gray green?! His eyes have so much different color in them, and they're gorgeous!
Hair - light brown with auburn streaks and he can have some wicked bed head! Still haven't cut it yet
Clothes - 12 month clothes and Size 3 diapers. The 12 months jammies are just about too small, and the 12 month pants are still quite a bit too long. Maybe he has a long torso?!
Sleeping - Great!! We made huge improvements this month. He's sleeping about 10.5-11 hrs every night and might wake up occasionally but cries himself back to sleep within a couple minutes. He goes to bed at 7-7:30pm and wakes up by 6-6:30. He occasionally eats at 5-5:30 and goes back to sleep until 7. Daylight savings threw him off a little but he is doing awesome. Aiden takes 2 naps. Morning nap at about 9:30 for usually 1.5 hrs and afternoon nap at 2-3 depending on how good his morning nap was! He's doing great. So much better than our last month when we had some sleep regression. He sleeps in every position imaginable these days. He still likes to be on his stomach with his butt up but also lets himself stretch out a lot more, either on his back or stomach. He goes to sleep with a pacifier and likes his snuggly toys in the mornings.
Eating - Everything! Aiden is still such a good little eater. He hasn't liked cottage cheese the few times we've tried this month, but he likes eveyrhting else. Brocoli, Asaparagus, cheese, mild peppers, oatmeal, pumpkin, and anything with pears or apples mixed in! Chicken , asparagus, yogurt soup he didn't love, but has politely choked it down a few times for me. He eats bottles every 3-4 hrs. We increased the volume to 6 oz, and that immediately seemed to help his sleeping through the night. He eats three meals a day and is always offered milk right before bed but some days doesn't want much. I'm still nursing but Aiden has majorly started biting this month, so we'll see how much longer I can tough it out. 10 month....I'm so close but I've done well! He still eats great from me in the mornings but is hit or miss the rest of day.
Teeth= 6 (4 top, 2 bottom) and he might be working on the next few as he's chewing on his fingers a lot
Milestones - Walking! He took his first steps just before he turned 9 months old, but he really mastered it this month. He's all over the place. He can walk all the way across the house, change directions, stop and pick toys up, chase after Kuna, he's on the go! He's doing great and even the little Frankenstein arms out in front have almost gone away.
Babbling. Aiden is majorly starting to babble more and is finally giggling and laughing more! On his 10 month birthday Shelby, our nanny, even said she heard him saying ma-ma. More like ma-ma-ma-ma-ma...but it counts! He may not know what he's saying yet though. :-)
Aiden hugs now! He intentionally hugs our necks or legs and it's so cute. He also attempts to kiss me. I say attempt because it's a bite/suck/lick combo.
He's recognizing people in pictures and loves when he sees the Kuna dogs in his "Farm" book.
Aiden learned how to throw this month. He's getting better at letting go of his basketball ball and is starting to throw his pacifiers or balls a little too. Aiden is about to have Kuna attached to his hip as soon as he starts throwing the balls a little more consistently. :-)
Loves - His basketball hoop in his room! He smiles at it when he sees it from his crib or from the rocking chair. He loves when we help him shoot hoops. Swinging! Aiden lights up and loves to swing at the park. Aiden loves the green newborn picture we have of him on the stairs. He smiles and squeals at it. He loves Kuna and her toys. He likes to pick up her toys and carry them to her. He loves her bowls and would splash in the water bowls everyday if we let him. He likes to take all the chip clips off the fridge. Aiden loves to close doors! He learned how to close them and everything else, and he loves to walk in the bathroom or laundry room and close the door. Then we'll open it a little and he'll close it again. He also enjoys closing the washing machine door, the toilet lid, the kitchen trash, the fridge doors or anything we'll let him close. He likes helping make the coffee in the mornings. He loves the yellow giraffe puzzle piece. He likes playing with bubbles that we blow. Aiden loves bath time still. He loves when we hold him upside down and let Kuna kiss him. He loves seeing things from upside down. He likes when we blow on his belly. He loves to get a second wind and play play play after dinner and before bed. He'll play by himself, or with Kuna, or with us, and it's so cute to watch him go. Aiden loves balloons!! We've had helium balloons on a couple occasions this month and they provided days or weeks of fun. He carries them around, bats at them, pulls at them, bites at them, and generally enjoys himself with a balloon. Aiden loves to crawl up the stairs and goes for the basement ones so fast! He also loves playing with all cords. It's a challenge to try and teach him not to pull on them. unplug them, or eat them! He also loves turning on the bathtub in our master bath. He's still ticklish on his thighs. He loves leaves; pulling them off trees, playing/eating them off the ground. Aiden learned to throw toys down the stairs through the slots of railing. It's pretty cute to watch him walk over there and toss his or Kuna's toy down the stairs. He even tossed her bone through the gate onto the upper stairs. Too funny. Aiden seems to like and be interested in brushing his teeth, so we brushed them with our toothbrush a number of days this month and he was so calm and loved it. Aiden likes to play with my necklaces hanging in the closest and is surprisingly gentle and hasn't broken any of them yet! He loves his nanny Shelby, and we're so fortunate for that as it makes our days worry free which is a huge blessing.
Hates - He hates laying still long enough to get his diaper changed or get dressed. It's pretty funny because he used to love getting changed. He sits still for us to change his diaper when you sing "10 little monkeys jumping on the bed". He's doing better with having his face wiped. Aiden gets hangry in the evenings sometimes.
Aiden is such a joy. Every evening Ross and I enjoy just watching him play and hearing about his day. He's such a happy little boy and unless his teeth are hurting he is generally so sweet and playful. His smile lights up the room and his little giggle/squeal fills the house with love. We can't believe we already have a walking 10 month old and can only imagine how the months will continue to change and be more and more amazing. We love you so much Aiden. You're our whole world!!
10 month photo session needed two attempts...he wasn't really feeling photogenic and then he had a epic meltdown on the first attempt! :-)
