Weeks 43 and 44 - saying "ma-ma"?!?! and waving!

Week 43

I got spend Monday at home with Aiden this week becuase Shelby was still on vacation.  We had a fun day together and got to enjoy the beautiful weather at a new park in Wheat Ridge after swinging by the hospital to get my breast pump checked.  He enjoyed playing with the leaves and seemed to like the slide a little.  He's such a pleasant good boy!
He can't ALWAYS be happy!

However.... he is biting so much! Ouch Aiden!  He's killing me.  Our nursing days will come to an end in a hurry if this keeps up.  He still eats great in the morning, but the rest of the day, not so much. He gets totally hangry these days!  I've had a hard time keeping up when I'm pumping lately, but we'll get through it.  Hopefully.  Ugh

When Shelby arrived on Tuesday, he was soooo excited!  He practically jumped out of Ross' arms to see her.  It was so sweet and nice reassurance that he loves her and that she was a great choice! :-)

On Thursday Aiden turned 10 months old.  Wow, we have a walking babbling 10 month old.  We are so lucky!  He is getting better at throwing balls, or anything really, and loves dropping them down the stairs.  He hugs all the time now.  He even started staying "ma-ma" or more like "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma!"  I'm not sure he knows what he's saying, but Shelby heard it on Thursday and Ross heard it on Friday.  I can't wait until I hear it!

He likes playing in the leaves and chasing Kuna all around the house.  He loves turning on the bathtub in our bathroom and playing with my necklaces in the closet.  He can walk great now.  He walks all over the house, stops to get toys or follow Kuna.  It's incredible how good he is at walking in such a short amount of time.  He loves to crawl up the downstairs when we let him.  He also loves closing the doors or drawers or anything he can.  He loves opening and closing the elephant hamper in his room.

Aiden is finally starting to laugh a lot more too. Way more giggly than in the past and it's so cute.

On Thursday night he was so cute playing with Kuna's bone.  It was just like Tia having it, and all the sudden Kuna totally wanted the bone!  So funny. And Kuna was great, letting him grab it out of her mouth and walk around with it and steal it from her.  Of course she tried to grab it from him and lick him, but she was super gentle which was great.  He had fun dumping it between the stair gate onto the upstairs too, which was hysterical to watch.

Aiden got a flu shot booster Thursday too, which went fine.  Ross had a blast watching him play with “big kids” while they waited around to make sure he didn’t have a reaction due to his egg sensitivity.  He was “hissing” (laughing) at the kids and hugging them and playing the little table games.

Shelby said Aiden was a little crack up this week, so going non stop and loving Kuna like usual.

We had a busy weekend with Flyer and Sarah's wedding, that Ross was a groomsmen in.  It was a gorgeous fall weekend, with temps near 70!  Nana and Grandpa got lots of Aiden time and helped us out by watching him during the rehearsal dinner and the wedding.  Kikko is so good with Aiden these days.  Flyer's wedding was lovely, but it was a bit of a bummer that it was on a Sunday. :-)

Week 44

44 Weeks and happy as could be!

Ross had a little cold on Sunday and it seemed Aiden caught it a little this week.  He had a runny nose on Tuesday and was a bit of a mess in the evenings.  We do think he's working on more teeth as he seems to be chewing on his fingers a lot and being a bit sensitive.

Shelby took Aiden and Kuna to Golden on Monday and he loved the new park and literally was hugging trees.  Too cute!  He loves the outdoors.
The biting is out of control, in a bad way.  I'll keep trying this week, but if we don't have more success then the weaning will begin because he's doing better with a bottle than with me.

Winter rolled into Denver for one day, and Aiden got to play in the snow on Wednesday and Thursday and loved it.  He didn't mind wearing the hat and gloves and Shelby went out and found him some snow pants.  I got him the most adorable snow boots from Sierra Trading Post when I was in Cheyenne one day.  I can't wait until we get a big snow for him to play in, since we loved just a couple inches!  Shelby even let him do a little snow finger painting!

Aiden has learned to toss his puffs or crackers off his high chair to share with Kuna.  Uh oh! :-)  Over the weekend he did great with finger foods.  Ate the blueberries and pieces of ham like a champ! A little messy, but he did awesome.  He also loves cheese and is getting good and feeding himself little bits.  Cheddar, pepper jack, aged white cheddar, he seems to like it all!

He took one big face plant Wednesday night and gave himself a bloody nose and cracked lip.   So sad.  We also had our first experience of falling down the stairs over the weekend. I had just finished nursing him and didn't know that Ross had left the gate to the basement open when he went down. Aiden was so fast and tumbled down those top 5 steps before I'd entered all his eating details into my phone. Thankfully it was the shortest flight in the house and carpeted and he was just fine. But wow, did it scare us.

Our microwave shit the bed on Monday night, so we were left heating up baby food on the stove.  Kind of incredible how much we use that microwave for Aiden's food!  Luckily my handsome husband is also Mr. Fix It and installed a new one on Thursday.  Good job babes!

On Wednesday when I got home from work Aiden just smiled and giggled and walked all the way to me to give me a hug.  It was the cutest thing ever!  He'll usually smile and come to me, but the added giggle was just the best welcome ever!

Over the weekend Aiden started waving!  On Saturday when Ross brought him down from his afternoon nap, he started waving when he saw me.  It was adorable.  And then on Sunday he waved at Kuna when we came back down from his afternoon nap.  He'll have it figured out in no time!

It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend so we enjoyed long walks and the park both days, before the snow rolls in next week.  Aiden is such a fun, happy, tough little guy.  He amazes us every day how perfect he is.  He even has a blast "helping" with laundry, dishes, and vacuuming!  And he's a great little helper at closing the refrigerator door, or any door for that matter.  He's the best!

Ross went to the pathetic Broncos game against the Chiefs on Sunday, and I stayed home with Aiden.  Turns out Ross wishes he had too, since the game was so bad.  Not our best week of football pick ems! But another great week with our sweet boy!

Oh, and he ate so well over the weekend.  It was kind of judgement day for he and I and do I bother continue nursing if he's not eating well from me.  And thankfully he ate well all weekend and we didn't have to give him any bottles.  Good job buddy!  Now it's just deciding if I keep nursing all the way until Hawaii in a month or do I start weaning?!
