Week 45 - eating table food and the Natural History Museum!

Week 45

Aiden has had a hard time fighting off this last cold and still had a runny nose most of this week.  He was a bit cranky each evening, which I'm not sure if it's because he doesn't feel well, or he's having a growth spurt, or he's hangry!  He sucks his middle two fingers on his right hand all the time, and had been way more snuggly this week. I'll take it! 😊 On Wednesday Shelby went ahead and increased his milk volume to 7 oz for a couple of the bottles to see if it was a hunger thing.  It's so funny how he visibly changes when he's hungry!  He's doing awesome with finger foods and actually seems like he's enjoying them more than us feeding him.  He feeds himself with his left hand most of the time. Hmm. What will he be?! Rightie or leftie??!!  I'll need to start figuring out what to cook that will get him the protein and nutrients he needs and let him feed himself.  He likes to grab the spoon, but is way far from being able to feed himself with the spoon.  Cheese has been a big hit this week.  He even likes the pepperjack!  And Kuna loves when he drops cheese for her.  :-)  He's been eating really well from me and has figured out that I don't want him biting.  We're doing so much better!

It snowed a bit on Monday night, so Tuesday Aiden got be all bundled up like Randy from Christmas Story!  He could barely move and wasn't real sure what to think and just laid there.  It was real heavy wet snow, so I think a lighter snow will be more fun.  He did think it was a blast to watch Ross shovel with Kuna and was laughing watching them through the sliding door.

He learned to play a fun game with Kuna this week, which involves him throwing her toys through the slots and down the stairs and then her going and getting it.  He played it for hours with Shelby!

He LOVES his bumble bee clock and basketball hoop in his room.  He smiles at them and coo's at them in the mornings.  It's adorable. And when you ask him where is his bumble bee, he immediately looks at and smiles.  He does the same with his basketball hoop.  So cute.

Aiden has really enjoyed playing with his bouncy soccer ball on the main floor, and uses the kitchen table as an obstacle course, when he throws it and then zig zags under the table or through the chairs to retrieve it.  He and Kuna chase that little soccer ball all around the main level.  :-)  He also really likes when we bounce it for him.  He's so cute.  And he's getting so smart and aware of what things are.  When we tell him to get his soccer ball, he total know what we mean.

Shelby got her wisdom teeth out on Friday, so Aiden had the day with his Daddy.  I think they both enjoyed it, especially since Ross was gone in OKC a few days this week. Aiden was all healthy and as happy as could be!

On Saturday we went down to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  I had some free tickets from work for being corporate members, so it was a good excuse to go on a field trip.  We knew Aiden was a little too young still, but that the stimulation and the change in scenery would be good for him.  He really liked most of the animals and also watching the people!  The museum also had a new discovery zone area for children and Aiden loved the water table area!  He was such a good little boy and was so stimulated with everything going on around him.  We had a fun time!

Sunday Momma got a massage during Aiden's morning nap, which was lovely, and then we had a pleasant day at home.  Ross, Abby, and Owen Serven came over for dinner, which was a delicious smoked chicken!  My boo is really getting good at this smoking thing!  Dinner was amazing.  And watching Aiden and Owen play was really neat.  They are on such similar levels.  Owen isn't walking yet, but they enjoyed playing hoops and play tables together.  It will be fun to watch them be friends over the years!

Aiden's 18 month onesies and PJ's have made it into the rotation this week and much to my surprise are not very big on him.  He looks so darn cute in everything!
