3/28- Mama is 33! Slides! Refusing to say ma-ma! :-)

March 29-April 3

This is kid is getting so big!  He's definitely our little boy and not our little baby any more.  He is so much fun, and such a happy kiddo.  He's always smiling and babbling and running around!

Aiden had a great week and we had a super fun weekend with him.  He and Shelby went to the zoo on Tuesday, and he liked the giraffes this week.  He's so good at eating his peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on his own now! We can picnic with Aiden!  Aiden adores pine cones and he and Shelby spend lots of time at the park playing with them.

We've been working on transitioning Aiden to drinking his milk from cups instead of bottles. It's being met with resistance!  He certainly likes his bottle in the morning and night, and we're gradually offering his daytime milk in a cup.  We'll get there!  Still trying to decide if a sippy cup or straw cup is easier for him.

Aiden likes to try and brush his hair and also his teeth when he finds the brushes, or running around our bathroom in the morning.  He tries to brush my hair too, and gets it right some of the time! He doesn't really love when we try to brush his teeth, but we'll try to introduce that routine.  We got him his own little toothbrush, and he likes to attempt to brush our teeth with it, more than brush his.

Where is it? Where did it go?

Aiden loves to take showers!  He plays in the water and with the the soap bottles and could sit in there all day.  It's so cute!

For the past few weeks Aiden has really enjoyed playing with the pots and pans, when we let him.  He pulls them out and then puts the lids on and has so much fun doing it.  He doesn't always get the sizes right, but he likes trying and is surprisingly gentle with the glass lids.

Wednesday night Ross and I had a legitmate date night!  After work we went out to dinner and then to the Carrie Underwood concert.  The Edge steak house was less than amazing, but Carrie's voice is phenomenal.  We need to make ourselves get out a little more often because it was a nice night together!  Thanks for watching our sweet baby Nana and Grandpa!

Friday was my birthday.  33 already!  I took the day off to be with my boys.  We went down to the Denver Aquarium and Aiden loved it.  Shelby had taken him once before, so I was super anxious to take him and see how he liked it.  He liked to stand right up against the glass and look at the fish and the green eel.  He also was totally intrigued by the fake Orangutan.  It was making noises and moving and Aiden just stood there and looked at it for minutes on end.  And then when I carried him away to go look at fish again and keep moving, he ran right back to where he could see the Orangutan again when I put him down. So cute to watch him learning and taking everything in.  There were some stairs to a little bridge overlook at the Tiger exhibit that he loved going up.  Every time we came back down he would sign for "more", so back up we'd go.  :-)  It was a really fun day with my little guy.  Ross cooked me up some homemade pizza for dinner and a delicious funfetti cake.  Aiden didn't care for the cake much, but sure loved ice cream!  Mom and Dad stopped by to drop off a little birthday gift and to visit after being in the mountains.  They happened to queue me up to spill the beans that we're pregnant with #2!  Grandbaby #3 is on the way!

Over the weekend we went to the park a couple times and Aiden figured out slides!!  This was really the first time he liked them.  He would smile and sign for "more" as soon as he got to the bottom.  I'd pick him back up to the top and down he'd go!  After a few times he even figured out how to let himself go down them instead of me starting him.  And he was stable enough that I could let go of him and just let him slide.  He was so happy.  It was so cute.  He went down the big slide with us and just had a great old time!  On Sunday we went down and picnicked while Ross practiced tennis and then played in the park at RedStone.  Again Aiden loved the slides and enjoyed the swings and watching other kids.  We let the Rhinehart's know that Aiden will be a big brother and of course everyone was excited.

Aiden waves at everything and enjoys signing for "more" all the time.  He still swings that left arm like crazy when he's running, or even walking, and keeps those two right fingers in his mouth a lot!  He's getting really good at mimicking everything I said, like "uh oh, bye bye, la la" and of course then when we'd try "mama" he would say "dada" instead.  Haha.  Little stinker.  He also tries to say "baby, basketball and Kuna (na-na)".

On Sunday Ross killed it and gave Aiden his second haircut.  It turned out great!  Those pointers from his barber really are helping and our little guy

He's such a joy!  What a great birthday weekend with my boys!
