18 Month Stats:
Height: 34.75" (98%)
Weight: 25 lbs (63 %)
Head: 19.29" (85%)
Eyes: More hazel than before. Still blue/gray in the majority, but looking more green/brown hazel in the middle. Beautiful little eyes with lovely long eyelashes
Teeth: 14! His upper two canine teeth broke through this month and the bottom two are not far behind!
Hair: So blond and so long! :-)
Sleeping: He sleeps consistently from 8pm to 6am and takes one great nap at about noon for 2.5-3hrs. He's our early riser but it's so pleasant to see that little smiling face in the morning and watch him run around while we get ready for work. If he goes to bed late, he wakes up even earlier! Bedtime is roughly 7:30pm. He sleeps on his back a lot lately, with his arms overhead, and snuggles Baba all the time. He likes to sleep on his side and also still on his tummy, either all stretched out or with his legs under him and butt up. He's a cute little sleeper! He loves having all his animals in his bed, and will reach and sign please for his big elephant and big snuggle puppy. He loves to snuggle up close to his big elephant and lay on top of all his animals. It's incredible how he holds onto Baba all night long. He always wants water when he wakes up!
Eating: Everything! He eats the same dinner as us every night and for the most part does really well. He eats breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner. He definitely gets hangry in the evenings so we hurry to get dinner on the table around 6pm. Aiden gets milk three times a day: morning bottle (7oz), lunch cup (7 oz) that he finishes with his snack a lot, and dinner cup (7 oz) that he finishes in a bottle before bed a lot. We're working on getting away from bottles entirely, but it's a struggle. There are times where he'll cry and smack the cup away and once Ross tried to give him his night milk in the dinner cup and he backed away from him crying. We'll go cold turkey here soon! Some new foods this month that Aiden started liking was cottage cheese and chocolate donuts! We splurge and let him eat about 1/4 of a donut the few yearly occasions we have them. He adored cheese tortellini with sausage and chicken alfredo with spinach and tomatoes this month. His favorite foods are spaghetti or anything with noodles, sweet potatoes, broccoli, hummus, cheese!! (all types, even strong cheeses and loves cheese sticks), pasta salad, tomatoes, blueberries, yogurt, most fruit, and chips or crackers. He loves the store bought yogurt bites and goldfish! He makes his fishy face for goldfish and likes to feed them to Kuna too! He's a great little eater. We're very lucky.
Talking: Aiden is an absolute babble machine and we expect the words to start flowing anytime. He primarily says: Mama, Dada, Nuna (Kuna), Papa, Nana, banana, No, Yeah, bubbles, basketball, nuunuus (noodles), bye bye, go, and is working on "hello". He says "now now" instead of "meow" for a cat, is good at "moo" and makes grunts for dog sounds. :-)
He signs: please, thank you, more, milk, help, hurt, yes, come Kuna, water, eat, sleep, flower
Milestones: Aiden is talking so much more, picking up signs incredibly fast, and really comprehending a lot. It amazes us how smart he is. He started feeding himself with a fork and spoon really well this month. He's attempting somersaults and is so active and strong.
Loves: Aiden loves to smell the flowers, play with sticks, rocks or pinecones, and just walk around the yard in general. He will walk behind the day lillies and the power pole and touch all the plants. He almost never pulls on the flowers anymore and smells them all the time. He LOVES his Baba. That little lamb is his constant companion and makes him so happy. He gives the biggest smile when he sees Baba when he's looking for him. I can get him laughing and smiling when Baba plays hide and seek behind the couch or a wall. Aiden snuggles Baba or sleeps on top of him all night, and he goes everywhere with us! It's really sweet. He thinks it's so funny when Dad has Baba on his head and likes to put Baba on his head when in the stroller. It's a game to throw it in the car and then fake whine until he toss it back to him. Aiden loves to hold up one finger for one more. He does it for reading books, going down slides, wanting to swing longer, wanting one more chip, etc. It's hysterical. Aiden likes to catch! He holds out his two little hands up really close to his face and tries to catch! He doesn't always get it, but he likes trying. He especially likes to catch Baba or his soft baseball or basketball. Aiden really likes to help walk Kuna by holding onto her leash and when he can't get her to come with him he drops the leash and signs for help. She's pretty great about not pulling him over very often. Kuna loves chasing Aiden around the house when he's running away with her toys and she loves to catch the water he flips out of the water table or steals the toys out of it. Aiden continues to love the bath time and the splashing and blowing bubbles that comes along with it. He enjoys the water table Ross built and likes sticking his finger in the hose water. Aiden loves to run and put his dirty clothes in the hamper. He likes to pull tissues out of the box and stick them back in. Aiden loves pulling the wipes out of the package and then pushes them down to his pee pee to help us! Haha! Aiden thinks Kiko is hysterical and shakes his arms and laughs with excitement. Aiden loves to be tickled!! His inner thighs are the most ticklish. Aiden absolutely adores reading and we read some books over and over in one setting. Airplanes are a new favorite this month!! He always hears them and when we find them in the sky he will point and wave to them. Aiden has done amazing working on feeding himself with his fork and spoon this month. He loves to try and stab the food and does awesome when we give him a spoon or fork full, putting it in his mouth and not hardly spill a thing. He likes playing with my fork even more and will eat extra bites if it's off my fork! When things are hot and we tell him to blow on them, he holds it up to his mouth and blows on the food. It's adorable! Aiden is super tough and handles most tumbles and falls really well. He stands up and dusts his hands off and shakes Baba off. He loves to rock on the snow leopard in his room, especially before bed. Aiden loves to peel bananas and usually eat most of them. Aiden still sucks the two middle fingers on his right hand and holds Baba close to his face. He loves to smack his leg to say "come Kuna", although she doesn't know what that means! This month Aiden started doing a fake laugh and will say "ha ha ha" when we ask him to laugh!!! :-) He loves babies! He likes to wave at and kiss the baby picture of himself we've had sitting on the middle landing of the stairs. He smiles and waves at pictures of babies on wipes or diaper boxes. Shelby says he loves to play with the babies at music time. And one morning at the pool, he would stop at the top of the slide and wave to the little baby that was sleeping in the shade. He would sign "sleep" and wave and smile. It's so precious. He evens signs "all done" when he's had enough swimming! He thinks it's so funny when we do somersaults and is starting to try to attempt them on his own, but mainly just rolls around on the floor after we do a few and tell him it's his turn. He loves to spin and shake his arms to dance and do quick feet. He LOVES to swing at the park! He can swing for 30 minutes and be happy. He just smiles and loves it. Aiden thinks it's pretty fun to put hats on Mommy, and also enjoys putting them on Dad or himself. He's just the happiest greatest little boy!
Hates: Aiden hates having his hair dried and isn't a fan of having his nose or face wiped. That's about it. He is seriously the happiest little boy!
We love you more and more everyday Aiden! You are such a hoot and we're so blessed to have you!
