19 Month Stats
Height: 34.75"
Weight: 25 lbs 8 oz
Eyes: definitely more green hazel these days
Hair: light brown/blond and grows so fast
Teeth: 16! All four canines broke through at the beginning of this month.
Clothes: 18 -24 mo and 2T. 24 mo/2T tops and pajamas, 18 mo shorts/pants. Just moved up to size 5 diapers. About to burst out of his size 6 shoes but the size 7 are really big! Everything he wears is adorable!
Sleeping: Aiden started sleeping in a little longer this month. He consistently sleeps from 8pm to ~7am. There are still occasional 6 am wake ups, but it's more frequently 6:30-7 or even 7:15 some days. He goes down around 7:30-8 pm and goes to bed so easily. As long as he has Baba!! He likes to drink water before bed or when he wakes up and loves to have all his animals: big elephant, little elephant lovie, puppy, big snuggle puppy, giraffee lovie and baby Baba all in there, with Baba! He's started signing and trying to say "love you too" when we say goodnight to him and often says it after we've walked out and closed the door, along with "Mama Mama". :-) He's in XL sleep sacks and has never tried to climb out of his crib yet. We love how nicely he goes to sleep! He takes one great nap, from 12-2:30 most days, and sometimes sleeps for 3 hours!
Eating: In general Aiden is a very good little eater although he's been more picky this month. Some days or weeks he loves or hates things, but he's been great about eating whatever we eat for dinner. This month he enjoyed white chedder cheez it's, cheerios, frozen yogurt bites, and cottage cheese as new snacks. We did feed him french toast one morning and did not have any reaction to eggs! yay! He loved peach pancakes, chocolate zucchini cake, cherry tomatoes and cheese sticks! He's started saying "cheese" too! His favorite meals are spaghetti and mac n cheese with anything in it. He loves fruit! Blueberries, strawberries, bananas are probably the favorites this month, although bananas are hit or miss depending on the day. He likes broccoli the best for cooked veggies and enjoys eating raw green beans after we pick them from the garden. He loves goldfish! In the car he'll even say "mama!" and then make his fishy face, asking for them! Haha! Aiden has gotten really good at feeding himself with his fork or spoon and loves to try! All his milk is being drank out of cups! Shortly after his 18 month checkup we cut out bottles cold turkey and Aiden handled it really really well. We offer him ~7 oz with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but there are some days he doens't drink it all. But I was so proud of him handling us getting rid of bottles, especially since there were days he would hit the cup away and want his bottle prior to this. We did give him a new "orange puppy" cup the first morning with no bottles, and the he wanted that particular cup for many mornings in a row, but all in all, he did amazing. Such a big boy! No more bottles! Aiden likes to clean up his high chair tray when he is done, by putting all the food back into the bowl or on the plate and then handing it to me! :-) He will also blow on his food when he tell him too, if it's too hot. He loves to bite bell peppers like apples when we're cooking dinner and he's in his soux chef seat! He gets excited and wants the peppers and then just bites chunks off!
Signing: More, milk, hot, yes, sorry, hurt, help, "Kuna come", water, flower, and he touches his teeth for "brush teeth" and rubs his lips when he wants to play with our chapstick.
Talking: Mama, Dada, Papa, Nana, Gimmi or Mimi or Gama for Gammie, he attempts Grandpa, he calls Shelby "Dado", Nuna for Kuna, and Nuna No, ball, pop, bubble, cheese, banana, he just started saying please and tickle and poo poo. Sounds he makes: moo, hiss, baaa, boo, buzzz, naanaa for meow, and uhh uhh for ruff ruff, and uck in a raspy throaty uuuccckkk for trash, or dog poo! His "moo" got so good after we chased the cows when we were camping at Buffalo Peaks Wilderness for Granny's service. It was so cute! He loved them! He's talking more and more and trying to mimic us everyday. Aiden started saying his version of "love you too" or "I love you too" this month! At first he would say it when we were putting him to bed and in response to us, and then he got better at saying it when prompted. It comes out more like "doot doot too" and he points at himself. It's so precious!
Milestones: Aiden started doing somersaults this months! He also started trying to blow his nose when he is snotty and we hold the tissue up to him. He likes to try to wipe his face, or the table when he gets a hold of a napkin, and when changing him, he'll pull out the wipes and try to wipe his pee-pee! Aiden started brushing his teeth before bed and is getting better about not biting the brush as much and letting us try to brush his little teeth.
Loves: Aiden is such a happy little boy and loves a lot of things. I'll to highlight a few of the adorable things he has been doing this month.
Aiden loves to watch Kuna eat and will sit there and watch her the whole time. He's gotten much better about not trying to touch her food while she's eating and she has relaxed and doesn't inhale it when he's around anymore. She finally realizes we're not going to let him steal it! He loves the swings, slides, and generally running around the park. He likes to climb on big rocks and smell flowers. He loves to carry around rocks and sticks. He likes to put rocks in his mouth and spit them out when we tell him too and thinks it's funny. He really enjoyed bugs this month! Playing with rollie pollies and unfortunately killing a few was a big hit. Aiden loves reading and we read tons of books each day. He loves to dance and does quick feet and waves his arms around and drops it like it's hot all the time. When we're downstairs he'll show off on his little trampoline if other people are over and will jump jump jump! He loves Foosball and likes me to hold him and play or likes to throw the balls into play and play with Kuna and balls. Aiden enjoys watching videos on our phones, especially of himself! He likes to put chapstick on. He loves to put up his finger for "one more" for everything!! One more book, one more minute, one more ride, one more Kuna drinking water, etc. It's so cute! He LOVES sidewalk chalk and us coloring with him and him carrying around chalk. He plays with it everyday. He loves his play water table. He LOVES gatorade! We mix him cups of diluted gatorade water and he sucks it all down! He LOVES Baba and can't go anywhere without him!!! He likes the lawn mower in the garage and Kuna's Chuck it sticks. He really loves when Kuna lets him snuggle with her and gets the most snuggles when she's scared by a storm. One evening we spent an hour in the closet playing with Kuna under my dresses and Aiden loved it! He loves all dogs and really enjoys seeing them at a park or at a farmer's market. He's gotten great at throwing balls and is getting better trying to catch. He still holds his little hands up by his face to catch. He loves running around and climbing on the couch. He enjoys playing with the big neighborhood boys and likes when we push him on their scooters or bikes. He's not nearly as afraid of Madden's yellow power car this month and likes playing in it by himself. He still doesn't love when someone else drives him around, but he likes playing it. He likes to smack a ball with sticks or little bats. He loves when Kuna chases him around when he has a toy. He loves for me to hold him when we're cooking dinner so he can see what we're doing and also because he's normally getting hangry and wants Mama! He likes throw the ball the Kuna. Aiden loves to sit in our cars and pretend to drive and push all the buttons. Aiden loves playing with bubbles. He loves to chew on rocks and sticks! He loves other dogs, buses, and big trucks. He started "swimming" in the bathtub by laying on his belly and kind of army crawling around and blowing bubbles and laying there in the water. Aiden loves to wear hats sideways or over his eyes! He does it with his or our hats and he still loves putting hats on our heads. Aiden's motor skills are amazing and he'll play with his little wooden blocks, dumping them from one little container to the next. Aiden started saying "love you too" while pointing at himself and it's the sweetest thing ever. He still will only give kisses when he feels like it, or when we prompt him with a bribe he doesn't fully understand yet....like, If you give me a kiss, I'll give you a cookie! Works every time! :)
Hates: Aiden does not like when I try to cut his toe nails or fingernails. He also doesn't like when we dry his hair. He has started throwing fits when we don't let him do what he wants: i.e. bringing him in from outside, taking him out of the car when he's pretend driving, putting him down when he wants me to hold him, etc. He's learned to fuss when he doesn't get what he wants. One evening hanging out with the neighbors he even went and slammed himself down on his butt in their yard when Ross wouldn't let him go in the street. He did it twice and and just sat their and cried! The past week he cried/held his breath until he passed out a few times too. What a mess! Luckily the pediatricians say it's pretty normal.
