6 Month Stats:
Weight - 16 lbs 13 oz
Height - 27"
Head circumference - 17"
Eye color - Beautiful vibrant blue, steel blue
Hair color - light brown; has started looking auburn and his short hair in the back is getting lighter and lighter. He has silly long hair on the sides. It looks so cute when it's pushed to the side.
Sleeping - Mostly, great! He almost always sleeps 7-8 hrs, and has had a handful of nights where he sleeps 10, 11, or 12 hrs. He goes to bed at ~7:30 pm each night. He plays so hard he is totally worn out. He almost always still wakes up to eat at about 10 pm, and usually wakes himself up to eat around 6 am. I wake him up some mornings, and a few days he's slept right on through to 7:30 or so. He's woken up more this month than the past few, at either 2 am or 4 am to eat. Hopefully just growth spurts and figuring out his schedule, because it wears on his working mama! Overall he's such a good little sleeper. No complaints there! We're working on his naps and have been putting him down in his crib this month. He still cat naps 3 or 4 times each day. He loves to sleep on his tummy or his side. He usually sleeps on his belly with his two middle fingers in his mouth!
Eating - Aiden eats milk about every 3-4 hours during the day. We started solid foods this month, and he is a great little eater. He has seemed to enjoy the rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots and peas the most so far. He does not like the unsweetened apple sauce. We're introducing new foods every few days, so the next months will be a food adventure! Still no teeth.
Loves -Loves to play! He plays and plays on his mats, on the blanket rolling over for toys, in his jumper, literally jumping and jumping non-stop. He is so happy! He loves to squeal and smile all day. He loves Kuna. He loves petting her and watching her. He loves leaves. He likes to touch and pull at every tree we get close to. He loves his butterfly toy, and seems to like Kermit, Sophie and his puppy. He loves his jumper activity center. He loves to kick his legs! He kicks his shoes or socks off all the time. He kicks on his belly or kicks on his back. He's my Mr. Kickie! :-) He still loves water bottles and likes to grab at absolutely everything. He's a non-stop mover. He loves to look around at everything too. He likes the Dyson vacuum and our electric toothbrushes. He's mesmerized when we're using either. Loves bath time and likes to splash splash splash and reach for his ducks. He loves when you make faces at him and likes to blow bubbles and make noises of his own too. He smiles so big after he toots and you tell him "toots, toots, toots!" He loves to suck his two middle fingers.
Hates - Applesauce! Being put down when he wants to be held. Hates getting buckled into the car seat. Some days he hates to take naps! He doesn't enjoy reading much. :-) He hates having his face wiped after eating. Other than that, he is such a happy little boy it's hard to think of anything he hates!
Clothes - He's in size 3 diapers and 9 month clothes. The 9 month sleepers are almost too small when he stretches all the way out! And then there are various 3-6 month items that still fit his skinny little body. He looks adorable in shorts. Who am I kidding, he looks adorable in everything!
Milestones - Aiden is army crawling! Literally this weekend of his 6 month birthday he figured out how to move! He's been rolling over both directions for a couple weeks and figured out how to pivot on one arm and pull himself forward. Look out, this kid is mobile! He'll be crawling before we know it. Aiden is also sitting up. He can't get himself in a seated position by himself, but if we place him in it, he can hold himself upright and balance for a little while. He still tips over, but he's doing great. He is so so strong. He really shows how strong when he's sitting there or pulling himself after a ball.
Aiden is so happy! He loves to squeal and smile and reach for leaves and water bottles. He's such a delight.
He laughs on occasion, but prefers to just grin ear to ear and squeal. We get giggles out of him occasionally, and when I eat his toes that seems to get him going. He likes to pull hair and grab everything!
He's such an amazing little guy. I can't believe he's already 6 month old! It's been the most incredible 6 months of our lives. Its amazing how fun it is to be his parents and how much I enjoy being his mommy. It's given a whole new meaning to my everyday. He lights up my life. I love you Aiden!
