Weeks 26 and 27 - sitting up and army crawling!

Week 26 - I can't believe my baby is already 6 months old!  Yesterday (Sunday, July 5th) was his half birthday!  Monday we tried peas and he loves them!  He still hates applesauce. so we'll have to keep trying.  He even seems to notice it mixed with carrots or sweet potatoes.  He likes oatmeal fine but I think likes the rice cereal better.  He tried bananas on Sunday and did not like them at all.  I don't really blame him, all mushed up they are pretty smiley and weird texturely.

Aiden is getting good at army crawling!  He can totally move from one side of the room to the other with crawling and rolling and definitely goes for toys he wants.  He can keep himself sitting up for quite a while and did really well sitting in the grass just hanging out for minutes.  He likes to blow bubbles with his spit.  Woke up a few nights this week but less than last week!

Mom and Dad got home from Europe this week.  Aiden sure missed his Gammie and Papa and it was good to visit with them.  Dad's ankle has healed nicely, although the damn boot caused him to take a fall on the patio when they were over visiting.  It was terrible!  But thankfully Dad is ok.  They can't beleive how big and squirmy and strong he's gotten.  Loves squealling and so strong!  He pushes off of you and reaches towards everything and is always turning his head to see what's going on! Let alone he can get himself on all fours, and pull himself around with his upper body and sit up a little bit!

Aiden is going to have a boy cousin!  On Friday we found out Justin and Cambrey are having a boy!  We baked a cake with blue frosting in the middle and had a little gender reveal for them on Saturday.  So excited for them!  This will so much fun our little boys to be so close in age! On Sunday Aiden got to visit most of Ross's family at his grandmother's b-day party and man was he a hit!  Everyone loves our precious little guy!

Mom!!!  What is this stuff??!! I don't like applesauce!

Army crawling after that little ball!

Week 27 - Aiden is sitting up like a champ!  He sits there and smacks toys up and down and hits his legs so hard with toys he makes faces like it hurts!  Gets on all fours and rocks or lunges forward.  Reaches for his toys from sitting, tips over and starts army crawling toward it.  Over the weekend he definitely figured out how to get on his knees and rock back and forth. He's going to figure out how to crawl so soon. Yikes! It's so cute to see him try so hard to crawl to something and attempt to pull up on it or crawl over it ( our arms and legs in particular). He's so strong! He's basically doing push-ups and planks! Taking naps in his crib well this week.  Trying to establish a schedule a little bit because he's been sleepy when we get home from work and is fussy and falls asleep early.  Asleep by 6:45-7 Monday and Tuesday.  :-(  Therefore, time for more structured naps if we can!  Still waking up most nights, usually 2am ish.  Ugh!  Good thing he's so cute!  He's so smiley in the mornings and gives a big smile when we get home from work.  It makes the whole day better to see that smiley face.

Aiden tried avocados this week.  The first few bites he seemed to hate it, then he enjoyed it for most of the bowl full, but when I got him more, he acted like he hated it again!  Too funny to watch him eat.  He's a great little eater though.  He did better with bananas when Delly mixed them with his cereal in the mornings. He loved the blueberries we tried on Friday and through the weekend! And momma was a champ and made pears and peaches to freeze too.

At bedtime I started laying him down in his crib and then reading to him and it sure seems to calm him down more than trying to hold him and read to him.  He just looks at you and listens and then rolls over and falls asleep.  He's amazing.
