12 Month Stats:
Height - 31" (He's as long as his changing table!)
Weight - 22 lbs 5 oz
Eyes - blue green gray, with long eyelashes and the best sparkle in those little eyes
Hair - light brown and seems to get lighter all the time
Sleeping - Great! 2 naps and all night! He wakes up at about 6:30am and goes to bed at about 7:30pm. He naps at about 9:30am for ~1.5 hrs and again at about 3pm for ~1 hr. He sleeps in a sleepsack and with his giraffe lovey. He goes down so easily and is a great little sleeper. He has been all year! We love hearing him just babble and ooo and ahhh in the mornings when he lays there awake for a little while. He sleeps on his tummy almost exclusively and moves around like crazy.
Eating - Almost everything! He's a great eater. He drinks milk 5 times a day, still every 3-3.5 hrs. Each bottle is 6 oz. I just started weaning the last two weeks, and still nurse him three times a day at this time. I made it the full year!!!! He's definitely enjoying his independence and likes to pick up food and feed himself. He liked spaghetti and lunch meats and seems to enjoy the broccoli chedder bites and spinach ricotta gnocchi I've made him. He's enjoyed kiwi, fish, quesadillas, pizza, pancakes and almost anything we're munching on. His most favorite foods: pears, blueberries, tomatoes, cheese, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, apples, oatmeal, raisin toast, yogurt, bananas. and our chips! He learned to drink from a straw this month and now loves to drink water from his straw sippy cup
Clothes - 12 month pants, 12 and18 month tops/onesies, 18 month PJ's, size 4 diapers, size 4 shoes
Teeth - 8; 4 on top and 4 on bottom
Milestones - Signing a little, giving kisses, starting to blow kisses. RUNNING! Hugging Kuna. Clapping and starting to dance, drinking from a straw, really feeding himself, playing chase, and learning to slide down the stairs.
Loves - Aiden loves to help make coffee and help feed Kuna! He gets excited and "oooo"s and walks to where we make the cofffee or get Kuna's dinner ready. He loves sticking his hands in Kuna's water if we don't pick up the bowl quickly enough and will run to it when he sees it. He enjoys helping vaccum with the Dyson. He loves to bounce balls or watch you bounce a ball. He loves to run laps around the house with his toys. He absolutely adores when we chase him. He loved putting his toys in the christmas tree and touching the tree. He still likes to play with the Foosball balls. He loves being outside for walks, playing on the swings, or playing in the yard. Like always, he still loves bath time and splashing around like a crazy man. His new thing is holding two toys and biting a third. He wants anything outside of reach...the loofah, soap bottle, faucet, etc. He learned how fun it was to unravel the toilet paper roll this month. He loved the sand at the beach and didn't mind the waves hitting him in the face. In the bath or pool he likes to stick his face in! He really likes books, in particular the Family book I made, baby faces book, and Peek a Who and Pajama Time. He likes playing with his puzzles and the stacking rings or cups. He loves to throw Kuna's toys down the stairs and stick his legs between the rails. He loves to squeal and run! He's such a happy little boy! He doesn't laugh much, unless you are tickling him, letting him touch your toungue, or doing something silly. He likes when we do the chicken dance. He loves Shelby!! He smiles and goes to her so nicely in the mornings. He loves to give us huge smiles and give momma hugs when I get home from work. He loves to smile like crazy when Daddy is being silly when Aiden is eating or when Ross is in the laundry room and Aiden watches him like crazy from his high chair. Aiden loves to suck the two middle fingers on his right hand and won't hardly ever take a pacifier anymore. He likes magic carpet rides Kuna's bed each morning. Aiden loves to dunk his face in the bathtub and loves to sit with his feet crossed. In his high chair, in his stroller, on our laps...his feet are always crossed!
Hates - We have a happy little kid on our hands, because he doesn't hate much! Sitting still for a diaper change or getting dressed is about the worst! He still doesn't really like having his face and hands wiped after eating. And when he's being fussy, he doesn't like if I put him down when he wants to be held. He's started to fuss a little when he doesn't get what he wants.
We have a one year old! How crazy! But what a sweet amazing little boy he's becoming! He's starting to enjoy the zoo, music class and gymnastics and getting more engaged in activities outside the house. Aiden is so aware and learning new things everyday. It's incredible to watch. He's such a sweet baby. We're so lucky. We love you so so much baby boy. Happy birthday Aiden!
