Week 53?! What's next?

January 11, 2016

It was so fun to have pictures of Aiden every week of his first year, but it was also quite a bit of work, especially towards the end, when he didn't want to sit still at all!  I can't say that we're sad we won't be taking weekly pics anymore!  Down to Monthly photos now! Yippee!

This week was a little rough on Aiden.  He came down with a cold on Wednesday, which wasn't really a surprise after the busy weekend he'd had.  Between his birthday party and the funeral and Rhinehart family gatherings, he was passed around to hundreds of people.  He had a cough and runny nose and fever one night.  And then to add to it, we think he's majorly teething.  On Thursday night I saw his upper right molar working it's way out.  It hadn't cut through yet, but I could see the whole darn tooth there in his gums.  Poor kiddo.  His sleep was a wreck.  He woke up at about 5-5:30am everyday!  And on Tuesday night he seriously didn't sleep at all!  Ross heard him at midnight, 3, and then we finally went and got him at 5.  We're hoping this little schedule doesn't stick around!

We had Aiden's one year check up on Monday and he's doing great!  90% height, 70% weight, 85% head and right on track!  He was pretty unhappy after the MMR shots and was asleep before we got home!  Shouldn't make up so early, silly boy.

I was in Ft Worth Monday night and got home after Aiden was asleep on Tuesday, but the kisses he'd give me via FaceTime were precious!  I can't hardly get a real kiss from him, but he'd kiss the phone when Daddy told him too.  Too cute!  The smiles when we first saw me on the phone on Tuesday melted my heart.  He's the best!

He's swinging his arms all funny when he runs this week. He swings his left arm super fast and runs around the house! He loves reading books.  He makes a spitting elephant noise when you ask him what the elephant says or when he sees them in his room.  I think he said "ball" pretty clearly one morning when we were looking at his basketball hoop. He loves to play with ball caps when he's in our room getting ready with us and even knows what it is when Daddy told him to go get his hat!  We also think he's trying to say banana as "nanana" every time he sees them.

Aiden loves his "magic carpet rides" on Kuna's bed each morning!  Now he'll go get on the bed while Ross is still vacuuming and will wait until he gets to go for the ride.  He leans back and just smiles.  He even claps when it's over!

Aiden learned how to use his fingers to make noises with his lips and mimic us!  We've been doing it at him for weeks and he's figured out how to do it himself now!  He also thinks it's hilarious to touch my tongue when I stick it out at him.  He likes to push my face to see my earrings or pony tail and pull at it.

Unfortunately over the weekend Aiden got diarrhea and didn't hardly want to eat or drink.  He was still waking up at ~5am and having blowouts like crazy.  Aiden and I went to the zoo on Saturday after dropping Ross off downtown for Medina's daytime bachelor party.  The little lions are sooo cute and the red panda was adorable.  We even caught the sea lion show.  I think Aiden enjoyed it, even though he wasn't feeling his best.  Because he was still hydrated, the doctor wasn't too worried about one day or not eating and drinking like normal with diarrhea.  He did tell us to cut out the cow's milk to make sure that's not causing the issue.

Sunday we went to the Broncos playoff game and Gammie and Papa watched Aiden.  He was drinking milk better that morning, so I felt ok leaving him.

Sunday was not only a win for the Broncos, but their newest fan was born too!  Sunday Jan 17th little Bradley Cecil Cammon was born!!!  At ~3pm Cambrey gave birth to their son.  So exciting!  Of course it was then inopportune to have Mom and Dad over at our house, when they'd rather be at the hospital, but it all worked out ok.  I even got to go meet my little nephew after Aiden went to bed.  He's just darling.  Congrats Justin and Cambrey!  Your lives will never be the same!  It is so wild to see how much they grow and change in one year too.  Totally incredible that my little Aiden was that just one year ago!
