8 Month Stats:
Weight - 19 lbs 2 oz
Height - 29"
Eye color - Steel blue gray. Beautiful sparkly eyes!
Hair color - light brown and almost ready for his first hair cut! Top and right side is out of control long!
Sleeping - Mediocre. We eliminated me waking him up for the dream feed early this month after a major crying fit one night. Then he woke himself up for it he next week. The rest of the month he started waking up at 2-3am instead of the usual 10pm. Not amazing! But this past week he slept all the way through a couple nights and still woke up a couple night. I think we are right on the cusp of him sleeping 10-11 hours steady without food. He goes to sleep at 7-7:30pm and wakes up at about 6am everyday. He alternates between 2 and 3 naps, depending on how long his morning one is. His morning nap is always the best, anywhere between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Then just little 35 minute naps the rest of the day.
Eating - Everything! Aiden still drinks ~5oz of milk every 3-4 hours and is eating solid foods in the morning and evening. He likes almost everything. Home made applesauce is a major hit over the store applesauce he didn't care for. Lentils are not his favorite. Can't blame him there, peaches or pears are way more tasty. He likes yogurt, loves butternut squash and does well with most everything else. He has 3 teeth now! The two bottoms ones broke through earlier this month and are so cute and sharp! He had his first upper tooth break through just yesterday. It's the left upper just to the side of the middle ones. He's handling it like a champ! He's so tough. The right one was just behind it, breaking through on the 6th. He eats "puffs" cereal most days, and is doing awesome picking them up.
Loves - Just this past week Aiden loves fake dunking and touching the rim of his basketball hoop in his room. He loves to pull up on and climb on everything. He adores Kuna. Everything about her! He lights up watching her play or squeals crawling after her. He likes his Scout toy and the blocks. He loves to walk everywhere. He wants to hold our hands and just take off. He takes a huge step with his right foot. It's so cute. He still likes water bottles, but only if they are open so that he can try to mimic drinking from them. He loves to smile at his bumble bee clock in the mornings. He still absolutely loves being outside. Loves splashing in the water, of the bath or Kuna's bowl or the hose. Loves to play and chew on a plastic kitchen spoon. Starting to like books and listening to us read them.
Hates - Aiden hates when we wipe his hands or face after eating! He doesn't like to sit or lay still to have his diaper changed or clothes changed. Funny change from when he used to be calm and happy getting changed and having a naked butt. Now he just wants to be on the move! He's so pleasant and really doesn't hate very much. He doesn't like sitting still for his photo shoots anymore. They are a fun challenge each week!
Milestones - 3 teeth this month! Super fast crawler and pulls up on everything. Starting to let go and stand for a few seconds before falling over. Still not really shuffling around things yet. Doesn't realize he can't just let go to grab the next thing! His fine motor skills are improving everyday. He is getting really good at picking up the Puffs Cereal and getting them into his mouth. So cute to watch.
Aiden is such a doll. He is so so smiley and happy. He babbles and makes oooo noises, a little O face, blows raspberries, clicks his tongue, and squeals with delight. He is ticklish above his hips and above his knees. He likes to have his back scratched and sits there in a trance! He's into everything and is so observant. He wants to walk so badly and will definitely be a little climber. We're trying to teach him the basic baby sign language and he watches us intently. He giggles and smiles all day long. He's such a little pleasure that brings so much light into our lives and everyone elses. We can't believe he's already 8 months old and can only imagine what this next month will bring. We love you Aiden man!
