It is seriously amazing how much this little boy changes and learns each week.
On Monday he started clapping! Ross had been working with him all holiday weekend, and he started clapping with Shelby. It's super cute and by the end of the week he would clap pretty often. He waves at everything these days.
Shelby said he starting saying "da-da", but similar to ma-ma, still not in context. He's favorite is ba-ba-ba-ba.....ball? He's getting close!
Wednesday Aiden and Shelby went to a music class that I think he'll learn to enjoy over the weeks and months to come. Good interaction outside the house if nothing else. Shelby said he would drop the toys behind the baby gate protecting the electrical equipment! haha. And he enjoyed the shakers.
Friday I met Shelby and Aiden over at the rec center for drop in gymnastics. Aiden did great. He played with some big rings, would crawl through the tunnels to us, and loved going across the big trampoline with us. He can seriously almost do pull up too! He is so strong. This should be a fun activity for him when the weather is nasty outside.
We tried to work on his nap schedule a little bit, but without much success. One day he'd take a super long afternoon nap and the next would be real short and he'd need an early bedtime. We figure after the Hawaii trip we'll get something more solid in place!
Aiden did awesome with the Christmas tree. He is totally adorable and puts his toys in it. Pretty observant of him to want to put his toys in there with all the little hanging toys! He hasn't really pulled any of the ornaments off and is doing amazing not even noticing it pulled into the wall.
We tried to hug Kuna a bit this weekend, and she'll need to get used to that! She's so good with him and licks him when she's upset or agitated. He still pulls on her hair a little and tortures the poor gal by always throwing her toys, and his, down the stairs!
The custom board book I ordered arrived this week and Aiden loved it. He smiles with delight when he sees Mommy's picture, Kuna, or Gammie and Papa! That will warm their hearts since they've been away from him so long during their amazing trip to Antartica and South America. It will help him get to know everyone's name too!
Friday night Ross and I went to Fort Collins for my DJ Basin field Christmas party. It was a good time as always and Shelby spent the long evening with Aiden. Saturday we took Aiden over to sleep at Gammie and Papa's house while we stopped by Justin and Cambrey's holiday party. Man do they know how to throw a party. They had like 100+ people! We had Clayton and Cecilia over for dinner on Sunday so that we could get to know her a little bit, since we had to depart the party early the night before. Little man wakes up at 6:30am, no matter what we might have going on! :-)
On Sunday Aiden had two more teeth break through. Both lower teeth outside of his middle ones cut through. It was crazy because I noticed his gums were white that morning, and by that evening we could feel them. He's so tough!
He's getting good and walking in shoes and looks adorable doing it!
Another great week with this incredible little boy! We love him so much and can't get over how stinking cute he is! :-)
