Week 50 - Christmas! Saying Da-Da, Ma-Ma! Going down stairs

Week 50 - Merry Christmas!!!

It took Aiden a couple days to catch back up on sleep this week after the red eye on Sunday, so we just let him and Shelby dictate Monday and Tuesday!  He took a few extra long naps and slept in until about 7:30am, but other than that, he did so great adjusting.

Since we missed the Rhinehart Grandparents Christmas party on Sunday, we went down on Monday for a little pizza party to visit with them and Ray and the boys, before the left town.  Aiden sure knows how to make people's day! It's so cute.  He does so well around the large groups of people and is just a smiley little guy.  He did great eating pizza and even got to play the piano with his great grandpa.

Mom and Dad got home from their South America/Antarctica adventures on Monday too!  They had a great trip and were glad to be home for Christmas.  They were so excited to see Aiden too!  They came over on Wednesday to visit and couldn't believe how big he's gotten and how much he's changed.  It only took him a few minutes to warm up to them, and I think showing him all the pictures over the weeks they were gone helped!

Wednesday was a short day at work, which was nice.  Thursday was Christmas Eve and we had all the Cammon's over to our house for the day. Ross smoked ribs and a pork butt.  Unfortunately it was awfully cold out, so the smoking didn't go quite as smoothly as we would have liked and we only ate the ribs for dinner.  The pork butt took over 14 hrs to cook, and we think we'll save it for Aiden's birthday meal!!  It was a fun day of baking cookies, Christmas movies, and playing a few games too.

Yay!  It was finally Christmas!  Aiden's first Christmas!  He was the cutest little Santa in his PJ's and we had an awesome morning opening gifts.  Aiden loved pulling the bows off the presents the most.  And as expected, he enjoyed playing with the boxes.  He did help open a few presents, but for the most part, he couldn't care less.  :-)   Ross and I totally spoiled each other, and it was fun!

Ross and I got ready and all packed up during his morning nap, and then we finally just woke him up a little over an hour into his nap so that we could head over to mom and dad's, because they were holding breakfast/brunch for us.  We had a great breakfast and then did presents with the Cammon's!  We think Justin and Dad liked their gifts this year, and Rachel had Ross and Dad had me this year.  We all got spoiled!  Gammie and Papa and Justin and Cambrey spoiled Aiden too.  We had a delicious steak dinner and fun day playing some games.  I love the downtime with family over the holidays!

It started snowing lightly early in the day and it kicked up to real snow early evening and gave us a gorgeous White Christmas!!  We had probably 4-5" before heading home.  It was a great Christmas.

Saturday we went over and spent the day with the Rhinehart's.  Robyn worked Christmas Eve and Christmas.  It was a relaxing day working on a puzzle and hanging out with everyone.  Aiden loves to play with his Nana and Grandpa, who totally spoiled him with gifts! We had a delicous lasagna dinner and great Christmas celebration.  Aiden loved to eat the lasagna too.  Ron and Robyn enjoyed their gifts, even though I had some sizes wrong for Ron, and Delly and Ron had us.  Aiden loved eating dinner across from Reid and would like smile and giggle like a crazy man at Reid.  He also liked to check where Grandpa was at the end of the table.

Sunday we enjoyed staying home!!  We had to get the house cleaned up and our lives in order!  I cooked a bunch of baby food and Ross got to hook up his PlayStation 4 and get started with Fallout 4! Aiden was a little cranky today, so we aren't sure if he's teething or just a little tired.  He got to bed late last night, and the last few days have definitely been stimulating!

What a great Christmas weekend! We think Aiden officially said "da-da" on Christmas Eve too!  We're still questioning if it was really in context, but it was very clear!  And on the 26th he said "ma-ma" a few times.  The first was in the morning after he got done eating, and then again when we were working on the puzzle at the Rhinehart's.  Again, clear, but in context?!  It think we'll count them!

Aiden loved eating hash browns and ham on Christmas breakfast at the Cammon's and got to eat bacon on the 27th.  He's such a good little eater.  He loves oatmeal and would seriously eat the whole tub of blueberries if we let him.  He still devours pears and does great with all cheeses.  He liked the lasagna on the 26th and seems to be a fan of sausage and enjoyed the ranch style beans like a champ!  He loves drinking water out of his straw sippy cup.  He'll carry it around and drink almost the whole thing!

Aiden won't give hugs or kisses on demand, but I'm pretty lucky that Mommy gets the most of them!  He's so sweet.

He seems to really like the dump truck toy that Grandpa and Nana gave him and I think he'll enjoy the play tent/tunnel thing.  He's a spoiled little kiddo!  He absolutely loves when we chase him too!  It's his favorite!

This week Aiden seems to understand going down the stairs.  Ross has been working with him slide down back wards on his tummy, and once this week he even stopped and turned around and got down on his knees!  He doesn't always make it all the way down but he's getting there!

Aiden sucks his middle two fingers on his right hand all the time.  It's definitely his comfort zone.  He doesn't take a pacifier hardly at all.  He'll suck on them when he's tired, hungry, hurt, or just walking around!  He sleeps on his tummy most of the time, and usually in a corner, or with his little butt up in the air.  He stretches all the way out occasionally, but he's usually pretty bunched up.  He's so precious!
